Q&A with Paige Bird on her successful 20-year career

As a seasoned writer in the Myrtle Beach real estate industry, I wanted to focus on another longtime professional: real estate agent Paige Bird.

In this anniversary Q&A spotlight, I sat down to personally interview Paige to uncover the secret to her success, trace her remarkable journey, celebrate her, and reflect on her unique insights from this trailblazer in the real estate industry.

Ashley Daniels: Congratulations on your 20-year anniversary as a real estate agent, Paige! Can you reflect on your journey and share some of the key milestones and accomplishments that stood out to you during these past two decades?

Paige Bird: Well, looking back, I’m really proud of consistently achieving recognition as a top-performing agent in the region. Closing deals, building lasting relationships with clients, and contributing to the growth of the community are also milestones that stand out as significant achievements in my career.

AD: Ethics have always played a crucial role in the real estate industry – especially nowadays. How do you approach ethical considerations in your work, and how has this commitment shaped your reputation as a real estate professional?

PB: Yes, ethics is the backbone of my real estate practice. I approach every transaction with a commitment to transparency, integrity, and ensuring the best interests of my clients. This kind of dedication to ethical conduct builds trust, and I think it’s been a key factor in my long-term success in this industry.

AD: Over the last 20 years, I’m sure you’ve witnessed significant changes in the real estate landscape. Could you discuss some of the most notable transformations and how you’ve adapted your approach to meet the evolving needs of your clients and the industry overall?

PB: The real estate landscape has drastically evolved over the years, with technology playing a pivotal role. I’ve embraced digital marketing strategies, leveraged data analytics, and took advantage of innovative tools, which is how I stayed competitive. Adapting to these changes has also allowed me to provide more efficient and effective services to my clients.

AD: Looking ahead, where do you see the future of real estate heading? Are there trends or technologies that you believe will have a substantial impact on the industry?

PB: I see continued integration of technology impacting the real estate experience. And sustainability and eco-friendly features will probably become more prominent in property preferences. Staying ahead of these trends will be crucial for agents to remain relevant in the future.

AD: What inspired you to pursue a career in real estate, and how has your initial motivation evolved over the years?

PB: Becoming a real estate agent was driven by my passion for helping individuals find their dream homes and navigating all the complexities of property transactions. Over time, this motivation has deepened because I’ve witnessed the profound impact finding the right home can have on people’s lives.

AD: Your involvement with your alma mater, Coastal Carolina University, and various charities, like the Children’s Miracle Network, shows how much your community means to you. How do you balance your professional responsibilities with your philanthropic efforts, and why are these causes important to you?

PB: It all stems from my belief in giving back to the community that has supported my career over the years. These causes align with my values, and contributing to education and healthcare initiatives is my way of making a positive impact that goes beyond real estate.

AD: What do you love most about being a real estate agent, and how do you maintain enthusiasm and passion for your work after two decades in the industry?

PB: I just love the opportunity to be a part of my clients’ life-changing moments. Whether it’s helping a family find their first home or assisting in the sale of a property tied to precious memories, the human connection is what fuels my passion for this profession.

AD: So, as someone deeply connected to the community, how do you integrate local insights and knowledge into your real estate strategies to better serve your clients?

PB: Staying connected to the community is a priority for me. Actively participating in local events, understanding neighborhood dynamics, and leveraging my network provides valuable insights that benefit my clients.

AD: Could you share a particularly challenging situation you’ve faced as a real estate agent and how you navigated through it to show us your problem-solving and resilience skills?

PB: One challenging situation involved navigating a complex negotiation with multiple stakeholders. I approached it with patience, effective communication, and creative problem-solving. It all resulted in a mutually beneficial agreement that showed my ability to handle intricate transactions.

AD: Aside from your professional career and philanthropic activities, what do you do in your spare time? Any hobbies? And, with three daughters, how do you manage to carve out quality family time from your professional commitments?

PB: I find joy in creating meaningful memories with my three daughters. Whether it’s cheering them on during gymnastics competitions, enjoying boating adventures together, or simply taking leisurely walks on the beach, these shared moments are special to our family bond. I try to strike that delicate balance between the demands of work and family life, which is a top priority for me.

AD: Based on your extensive experience in the field, what advice would you give to aspiring real estate agents?

PB: My advice is to prioritize continuous learning, embrace technology, and build genuine connections. It’s not just about selling properties; it’s about understanding people’s needs and guiding them through significant life decisions with empathy and expertise.
